Jalen Brunson Injured in First Quarter! Knicks Star Faces Ankle Injury | Game Update (2026)

Oh no! Knicks fans, brace yourselves: Jalen Brunson's night ended abruptly, leaving a shadow over the game. He exited in the first quarter due to a right ankle injury, leaving everyone holding their breath.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) - The All-Star point guard's night was cut short on Wednesday night against Sacramento. Brunson's ankle seemed to give way while he was dribbling, causing him to fall to the court. After heading to the locker room, the Knicks initially listed him as questionable to return, but ultimately ruled him out for the second half.

Before the injury, Brunson managed to score four points in just five minutes of play.

This isn't the first time this season that Brunson has been sidelined by this particular injury. He missed two games in November due to a sprained right ankle and also sat out for a month late in the 2024-25 season because of the same issue. Could this become a recurring problem?
