Neil Young's 2026 Tour Canceled: A Surprising Break from the Stage
Neil Young, the legendary singer-songwriter, has announced the cancellation of all his 2026 concert dates with Chrome Hearts, leaving fans worldwide in a state of surprise and disappointment. The tour, which was set to begin in June, was highly anticipated, with Rolling Stone even featuring it on their list of the year's most-awaited tours.
In a statement on his official website, Neil Young expressed his decision to take a break from touring, stating, 'I have decided to take a break and will not be touring Europe this time.' He assured fans, 'I do love playing LIVE and being with you and the Chrome Hearts. LOVE Neil be well.'
The tour was set to commence in Manchester, England, on June 19, traversing the U.K. and Europe, and concluding in Udine, Italy, on July 26. The opening act for select dates was to be Elvis Costello and the Imposters.
Chrome Hearts, a band assembled by Young in September 2024, had been on a successful tour last year, playing dazzling sets of fan favorites. The band includes guitarist Micah Nelson, organist Spooner Oldham, Promise of the Real bassist Corey McCormick, and POTR drummer Anthony LoGerfo. Their last show was at the Painted Turtle benefit concert in October.
The cancellation comes as a shock, especially considering Young's recent actions. Just days prior, he announced his plan to remove his music from Amazon and gift it to the people of Greenland in response to President Donald Trump's threats. This move sparked a wave of support and curiosity among fans.
The question now is whether this break from the stage will be temporary or permanent. Young's fans eagerly await further updates, hoping for a return to the stage that has captivated audiences for decades.
